This price was achieved in the auction Made in CaliforniaContemporary Art at Bonhams in Los Angeles and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 1,500.00 many times over. Admittedly, works by William Pope.L have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Eight works: (i) White People are the Beef of the Fire; (ii) White People are Hoi Vuc Vietnam 1965; (iii) White People are my Tears; (iv) Black People are a positive cancer; (v) White People are nice to their I in April 2017 with an auction result of GBP 21,875.00 (€ 25,976.94).
