This artwork by William Pars achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in July 2015. In the Old Master & British Drawings auction, the work The Ruins Of The Baths Of Caracalla, Rome sold for GBP 11,875.00 (€ 16,834.76) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 5,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by William Pars; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot View Of Twickenham And The River Thames From Strawberry Hill, London sold at auction in June 2001 with the realized price of GBP 15,275.00 (€ 25,374.81).
