Auction result misses estimated price range
In July 2011 a collector was able to acquire the work Gersau On The Lake Of Lucerne, Switzerland by William Pars for GBP 9,375.00 (€ 10,759.22). This price was achieved in the auction Old Master and British Drawings Including Property from the Descendants of Walter Brandt at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Pars - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work View Of Twickenham And The River Thames From Strawberry Hill, London, which sold at auction in June 2001 for GBP 15,275.00 (€ 25,374.81).
