Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2018 Sothebys in London held the auction The Political Cartoon Collection of Jeffrey Archer, which included the work The Sword Of Macoles by William Papas. The price achieved of GBP 475.00 (€ 540.81) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 400.00 – 600.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Papas - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Brief Candle, which sold at auction in March 2018 for GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,423.19).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2018 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion The Political Cartoon Collection of Jeffrey Archer durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Sword Of Macoles von William Papas zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 475,00 (€ 540,81) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 400,00 – 600,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von William Papas mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Brief Candle beobachtet, die im März 2018 für GBP 1.250,00 (€ 1.423,19) versteigert wurde.
