The work Untitled (zip) III by William Monk was auctioned at Phillips in Hong Kong in March this year. It achieved a price of HKD 444,500.00 (€ 52,046.40), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 48%. Admittedly, works by William Monk have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Far-Out III in December last year with an auction result of HKD 2,520,000.00 (€ 301,985.42).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 48 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Untitled (zip) III von William Monk kam im März diesen Jahres bei Phillips in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 444.500,00 (€ 52.046,40) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 48%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Monk auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Far-Out III im Dezember letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 2.520.000,00 (€ 301.985,42).
