Auction result well in line with expectations
In August 2007 Sothebys in London held the auction Scottish and Sporting Pictures, which included the work The Western Patrol by William Mervyn Glass. The price achieved of GBP 4,800.00 (€ 7,095.67) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Mervyn Glass - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Monk Rocks, Iona, which sold at auction in April 2007 for GBP 10,200.00 (€ 14,934.11).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im August 2007 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Scottish and Sporting Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Western Patrol von William Mervyn Glass zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 4.800,00 (€ 7.095,67) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von William Mervyn Glass mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Monk Rocks, Iona beobachtet, die im April 2007 für GBP 10.200,00 (€ 14.934,11) versteigert wurde.
