Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work View near Rokeby, Barnard Castle by William Mellor was sold in the Victorian & British Impressionist Art auction at Christies in London in November 2011. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 3,250.00 (€ 3,794.04). Admittedly, works by William Mellor have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Grasmere Lake from Loughrigg, Westmoreland in May 2002 with an auction result of GBP 10,575.00 (€ 16,560.59).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit View near Rokeby, Barnard Castle von William Mellor wurde im November 2011 in der Auktion Victorian & British Impressionist Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 3.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 3.250,00 (€ 3.794,04) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Mellor auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Grasmere Lake from Loughrigg, Westmoreland im Mai 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 10.575,00 (€ 16.560,59).
