This artwork by William Mellor achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in November this year. In the British and European Art auction, the work 'Rydal Mere, Near Ambleside, Westmorland' sold for GBP 1,792.00 (€ 2,076.54) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 800.00. Admittedly, works by William Mellor have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Grasmere Lake from Loughrigg, Westmoreland in May 2002 with an auction result of GBP 10,575.00 (€ 16,560.59).

Dieses Kunstwerk von William Mellor erzielte im November diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion British and European Art wurde die Arbeit 'Rydal Mere, Near Ambleside, Westmorland' für GBP 1.792,00 (€ 2.076,54) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 800,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Mellor auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Grasmere Lake from Loughrigg, Westmoreland im Mai 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 10.575,00 (€ 16.560,59).
