Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

Here, the upper estimate of USD 45,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 46,875.00 (€ 34,464.38). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William McGregor Paxton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Letter in April 2002 with an auction result of USD 834,500.00 (€ 927,016.22).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Glitter von William McGregor Paxton kam im September 2010 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 45.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 46.875,00 (€ 34.464,38) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William McGregor Paxton erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Letter im April 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 834.500,00 (€ 927.016,22).
