Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In April 2007 Sothebys in New York held the auction 19th Century European Art, which included the work American Odalisque With The Slave (Copy After Ingres) by William McGregor Paxton. The »bidding war« ended at USD 108,000.00 (€ 79,062.96), 20% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William McGregor Paxton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Letter in April 2002 with an auction result of USD 834,500.00 (€ 927,016.22).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im April 2007 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion 19th Century European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit American Odalisque With The Slave (Copy After Ingres) von William McGregor Paxton zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 108.000,00 (€ 79.062,96) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William McGregor Paxton erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Letter im April 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 834.500,00 (€ 927.016,22).
