Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2009 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Paintings, which included the work Fog On The Monterrey Coast by William Louis Otte. The price achieved of USD 5,625.00 (€ 4,241.76) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Louis Otte - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Windswept, Carmel by the Sea, which sold at auction in November 2018 for USD 12,500.00 (€ 11,039.48).
