In June 2002 a collector was able to acquire the work Eucalyptus Along the Shore by William Louis Otte for USD 7,767.50 (€ 7,880.99). This price was achieved in the auction CALIFORNIA, WESTERN AND AMERICAN PAINTINGS at Christies in Los Angeles and was even below the estimate range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00 set by the auction house. Other works by William Louis Otte have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in November 2018 by the work Windswept, Carmel by the Sea at USD 12,500.00 (€ 11,039.48).
