Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by William Kennedy could be acquired at Christies in London in December 2006 for an unexpectedly low price. In the British and Victorian Pictures auction, the work Sheep in an evening landscape changed hands for GBP 1,800.00 (€ 2,671.43) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Kennedy - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Spring Blossom, which sold at auction in August 2008 for GBP 7,500.00 (€ 9,300.22).

Dieses Kunstwerk von William Kennedy konnte im Dezember 2006 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion British and Victorian Pictures wechselte die Arbeit Sheep in an evening landscape für GBP 1.800,00 (€ 2.671,43) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von William Kennedy mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Spring Blossom beobachtet, die im August 2008 für GBP 7.500,00 (€ 9.300,22) versteigert wurde.
