Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2004 Christies in New York held the auction Important American Furniture, Folk Art, Silver, Prints and, which included the work Portrait of a Rhode Island Lady by William Kennedy. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 10,755.00 (€ 8,637.17) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by William Kennedy have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in August 2008 the work Spring Blossom was auctioned for GBP 7,500.00 (€ 9,300.22).

Im Januar 2004 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Important American Furniture, Folk Art, Silver, Prints and durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of a Rhode Island Lady von William Kennedy zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 10.755,00 (€ 8.637,17) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von William Kennedy konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im August 2008 die Arbeit Spring Blossom für GBP 7.500,00 (€ 9.300,22) versteigert.
