Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Sandcastles at the seaside; Girl and a hungry goat, a pair both 16.5 x 23.5cm (6 1/2 x 9 1/4in). (2) by William Kay Blacklock was sold in the British and European Art auction at Bonhams in London in March last year. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,785.00 (€ 2,116.32), 19% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Kay Blacklock achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Summer in December 2011 with an auction result of GBP 32,450.00 (€ 38,863.46).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Sandcastles at the seaside; Girl and a hungry goat, a pair both 16.5 x 23.5cm (6 1/2 x 9 1/4in). (2) von William Kay Blacklock wurde im März letzten Jahres in der Auktion British and European Art bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.785,00 (€ 2.116,32) und damit 19% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Kay Blacklock erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Summer im Dezember 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 32.450,00 (€ 38.863,46).
