The work The Flowers Of May by William John Hennessy was sold in the British & Irish Art auction at Sothebys in London in December 2014. The price achieved of GBP 18,750.00 (€ 24,137.47) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, The Flowers Of May is the most expensive artwork by William John Hennessy that we have observed at auctions so far.
