Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2005 a collector was able to acquire the work Strawberries On A Leaf by William Hughes for GBP 240.00 (€ 352.59). This price was achieved in the auction British and Victorian Paintings at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Hughes achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Flowers, Fruit, A Bullfinch And Its Nest in November 2006 with an auction result of GBP 20,400.00 (€ 30,294.64).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im November 2005 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Strawberries On A Leaf von William Hughes für GBP 240,00 (€ 352,59) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion British and Victorian Paintings bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 300,00 – 500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Hughes erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Flowers, Fruit, A Bullfinch And Its Nest im November 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 20.400,00 (€ 30.294,64).
