Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by William Hughes could be acquired at Christies in London in June 2000 for an unexpectedly low price. In the British and Victorian Pictures auction, the work Plums on a mossy bank changed hands for GBP 940.00 (€ 1,490.02) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Hughes achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Flowers, Fruit, A Bullfinch And Its Nest in November 2006 with an auction result of GBP 20,400.00 (€ 30,294.64).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von William Hughes konnte im Juni 2000 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion British and Victorian Pictures wechselte die Arbeit Plums on a mossy bank für GBP 940,00 (€ 1.490,02) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Hughes erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Flowers, Fruit, A Bullfinch And Its Nest im November 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 20.400,00 (€ 30.294,64).
