The »bidding war« ended at GBP 660.00 (€ 952.57), 32% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Hughes achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Flowers, Fruit, A Bullfinch And Its Nest in November 2006 with an auction result of GBP 20,400.00 (€ 30,294.64).
