Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Apples, A Pear And A Bunch Of Grapes On A Mossy Bank by William Hughes was sold in the British and Continental Pictures auction at Christies in London in April 2004. It changed hands for a price of GBP 776.75 (€ 697.86) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Hughes achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Flowers, Fruit, A Bullfinch And Its Nest in November 2006 with an auction result of GBP 20,400.00 (€ 30,294.64).
