In July 2012 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master & British Drawings Sale, which included the work Portrait Of The Hon. Charles Brudenell-Bruce, Later 1St Marquess Of Ailesbury (1773-1856) by William Hoare of Bath. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 11,250.00 (€ 14,329.48), 41% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Hoare of Bath achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of Ayuba Suleiman Diallo, called Job ben Solomon (1701-1773), half-length, in African dress, with the Qu'ran around his neck, in a feigned oval in December 2009 with an auction result of GBP 541,250.00 (€ 610,549.03).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 41 % übertroffen
Im Juli 2012 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master & British Drawings Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait Of The Hon. Charles Brudenell-Bruce, Later 1St Marquess Of Ailesbury (1773-1856) von William Hoare of Bath zur Versteigerung kam.
