Auction result fails to reach estimate
When the work Seascape with a fishing boats near the coast by William Henry Williamson was auctioned at Bruun Rasmussen in Stockholm in November this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously set the estimate at DKK 5,000.00, but this failed to be met - in fact, the artwork changed hands for DKK 3,000.00 (€ 402.37). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Henry Williamson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Shipping Off The Coast In Heavy Seas in December 2006 with an auction result of GBP 7,200.00 (€ 10,685.70).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt den Schätzpreis
Als die Arbeit Seascape with a fishing boats near the coast von William Henry Williamson im November diesen Jahres bei Bruun Rasmussen in Stockholm versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit DKK 5.000,00 angegeben, den dieses Werk bei seiner Versteigerung leider nicht erreichen konnte - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für DKK 3.000,00 (€ 402,37) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Henry Williamson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Shipping Off The Coast In Heavy Seas im Dezember 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 7.200,00 (€ 10.685,70).
