Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2015 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work Two Red Barns by William Henry Johnson. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 30,000.00 – 40,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 32,500.00 (€ 29,433.07) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by William Henry Johnson have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in September 2019 the work Untitled (Uninhabited War Scene) was auctioned for USD 56,250.00 (€ 51,581.84).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2015 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Two Red Barns von William Henry Johnson zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 30.000,00 – 40.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 32.500,00 (€ 29.433,07) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von William Henry Johnson konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im September 2019 die Arbeit Untitled (Uninhabited War Scene) für USD 56.250,00 (€ 51.581,84) versteigert.
