In July 2012 Christies in London held the auction Andrew Wyld: Connoisseur Dealer, which included the work A lady asleep in a chair (recto); and A subsidiary study (verso) by William Henry Hunt. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,750.00 (€ 2,229.03), 46% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Henry Hunt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Eavesdropper in November 2003 with an auction result of GBP 26,290.00 (€ 37,739.68).

Im Juli 2012 führte Christies in London die Auktion Andrew Wyld: Connoisseur Dealer durch, in der auch die Arbeit A lady asleep in a chair (recto); and A subsidiary study (verso) von William Henry Hunt zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.750,00 (€ 2.229,03) und damit 46% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Henry Hunt erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Eavesdropper im November 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 26.290,00 (€ 37.739,68).
