Auction result well in line with expectations
In January last year Sothebys in New York held the auction Master Works on Paper from Five Centuries, which included the work Light and Shade by William Henry Hunt. The price achieved of USD 8,190.00 (€ 7,304.67) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 7,000.00 – 9,000.00. Admittedly, works by William Henry Hunt have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Eavesdropper in November 2003 with an auction result of GBP 26,290.00 (€ 37,739.68).
