However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Henry Hunt - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Eavesdropper, which sold at auction in November 2003 for GBP 26,290.00 (€ 37,739.68).

Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 10.080,00 (€ 11.820,89) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 68%. Für andere Arbeiten von William Henry Hunt mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Eavesdropper beobachtet, die im November 2003 für GBP 26.290,00 (€ 37.739,68) versteigert wurde.
