In the Important Photographs from the Collection of Donald and Alice Lappé auction, the work Articles of China, 1844 changed hands for USD 18,750.00 (€ 16,097.18) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Henry Fox Talbot achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work William Henry Fox Talbot’S Gifts To His Sister: Horatia Gaisford’S Collection Of Photographs And Ephemera in April 2021 with an auction result of USD 1,956,000.00 (€ 1,625,935.16).

Dieses Kunstwerk von William Henry Fox Talbot konnte im Oktober 2017 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden.
