Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2002 Christies in London held the auction British, Victorian and Scottish Pictures including Pictures, which included the work Figures in a boat by a windmill in an extensive landscape by William Henry Crome. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,290.00 (€ 5,378.28) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by William Henry Crome have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in June 2008 the work Landscape With A Young Boy Fishing, A Windmill Beyond was auctioned for GBP 6,500.00 (€ 8,216.22).

Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.290,00 (€ 5.378,28) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von William Henry Crome konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Juni 2008 die Arbeit Landscape With A Young Boy Fishing, A Windmill Beyond für GBP 6.500,00 (€ 8.216,22) versteigert.
