Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Chelsea Old Church at moonlight by William Henry Crome was auctioned at Christies in London in March 2004, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 4,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 2,868.00 (€ 4,293.13). Other works by William Henry Crome have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in June 2008 by the work Landscape With A Young Boy Fishing, A Windmill Beyond at GBP 6,500.00 (€ 8,216.22).

Als die Arbeit Chelsea Old Church at moonlight von William Henry Crome im März 2004 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 4.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 2.868,00 (€ 4.293,13) den Besitzer.
