Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Two classical warriors greeting a maiden by William Hamilton was auctioned at Christies in London in June 2003. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 200.00 – 400.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 235.00 (€ 337.71) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Hamilton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Campi Phlegraei. Observations On The Volcanos Of The Two Sicilies. Supplement To The Campi Phlegraei Being An Account Of The Great Eruption Of Mont Vesuvius In The Month Of August 1779. Napoli: Pietro Fabris, 1776-79 in November 2010 with an auction result of EUR 82,350.00.
Observations On The Volcanos Of The Two Sicilies. Supplement To The Campi Phlegraei Being An Account Of The Great Eruption Of Mont Vesuvius In The Month Of August 1779. Napoli: Pietro Fabris, 1776-79 im November 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 82.350,00.
