Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The nine muses by William Hamilton was sold in the British Art on Paper including Victorian Watercolours from auction at Christies in London in June 2004. The price achieved of GBP 1,195.00 (€ 1,778.52) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Hamilton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Campi Phlegraei. Observations On The Volcanos Of The Two Sicilies. Supplement To The Campi Phlegraei Being An Account Of The Great Eruption Of Mont Vesuvius In The Month Of August 1779. Napoli: Pietro Fabris, 1776-79 in November 2010 with an auction result of EUR 82,350.00.
Observations On The Volcanos Of The Two Sicilies. Supplement To The Campi Phlegraei Being An Account Of The Great Eruption Of Mont Vesuvius In The Month Of August 1779. Napoli: Pietro Fabris, 1776-79 im November 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 82.350,00.
