The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 8,962.50 (€ 14,034.81) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by William Hamilton have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Campi Phlegraei. Die Arbeit Portrait of Mrs Siddons in the character of Euphrasia in the Grecian Daughter von William Hamilton kam im November 2002 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 8.962,50 (€ 14.034,81) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
