Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2006 a collector was able to acquire the work The Rowley Mile, Newmarket by William H. Hopkins for GBP 60.00 (€ 89.10). This price was achieved in the auction Sporting Art, Wildlife and Dogs at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William H. Hopkins achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Hunting Scene, With Horses And Hounds In The Foreground, And A Hunt Beyond in May 2006 with an auction result of GBP 33,600.00 (€ 49,045.06).
