Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A horse watering, Keynsham, Bath by William H. Hopkins was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 250.00 (€ 317.63). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William H. Hopkins achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Hunting Scene, With Horses And Hounds In The Foreground, And A Hunt Beyond in May 2006 with an auction result of GBP 33,600.00 (€ 49,045.06).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A horse watering, Keynsham, Bath von William H. Hopkins im Juli 2008 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 400,00 – 600,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 250,00 (€ 317,63) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William H. Hopkins erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Hunting Scene, With Horses And Hounds In The Foreground, And A Hunt Beyond im Mai 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 33.600,00 (€ 49.045,06).
