This artwork by William Gropper achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in May 2017. In the American Art auction, the work On The Floor No. 2 sold for USD 20,000.00 (€ 17,799.93) - well above the upper estimate of USD 10,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Gropper - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Art Auction, which sold at auction in March 2012 for USD 56,250.00 (€ 42,185.39).
