In April this year Christies in New York held the auction Modern American Art, which included the work On the Floor No. 2 by William Gropper. The »bidding war« ended at USD 20,160.00 (€ 18,260.87), 34% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Gropper - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Art Auction, which sold at auction in March 2012 for USD 56,250.00 (€ 42,185.39).

Im April diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Modern American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit On the Floor No. 2 von William Gropper zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 20.160,00 (€ 18.260,87) und damit 34% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von William Gropper mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Art Auction beobachtet, die im März 2012 für USD 56.250,00 (€ 42.185,39) versteigert wurde.
