In March 2012 Christies in New York held the auction Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture Including the Collection of Dr. Mark and Irene Kauffman, which included the work Art Patron by William Gropper. The »bidding war« ended at USD 10,000.00 (€ 7,499.63), 25% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by William Gropper have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Art Auction in March 2012 with an auction result of USD 56,250.00 (€ 42,185.39).

Im März 2012 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture Including the Collection of Dr. Mark and Irene Kauffman durch, in der auch die Arbeit Art Patron von William Gropper zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 10.000,00 (€ 7.499,63) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Gropper auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Art Auction im März 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 56.250,00 (€ 42.185,39).
