Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work "Thelonius Monk", 1940s by William Gottlieb was auctioned at Bukowski in Stockholm in October 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of SEK 12,000.00 – 15,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for SEK 11,000.00 (€ 1,060.62). Other works by William Gottlieb have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in October 2020 by the work "Billie Holiday", 1940's at SEK 22,000.00 (€ 2,121.23).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit "Thelonius Monk", 1940s von William Gottlieb im Oktober 2020 bei Bukowski in Stockholm versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von SEK 12.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für SEK 11.000,00 (€ 1.060,62) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von William Gottlieb wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Oktober 2020 die Arbeit "Billie Holiday", 1940's mit SEK 22.000,00 (€ 2.121,23).
