The work Savage Club by William Gaunt was sold in the A VIEW OVER EATON SQUAREA PRIVATE COLLECTION auction at Christies in London in November 2005. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,320.00 (€ 1,939.25), 65% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by William Gaunt; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Public Speaking sold at auction in November 2005 with the realized price of GBP 1,440.00 (€ 2,115.54).

Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.320,00 (€ 1.939,25) und damit 65% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von William Gaunt; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Public Speaking im November 2005 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 1.440,00 (€ 2.115,54).
