Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Pour Les Pauvres by William Frederick Yeames was sold in the British & Continental Paintings auction at Sothebys in London in October 2007. The price achieved of GBP 7,500.00 (€ 10,770.49) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 6,000.00 – 9,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Frederick Yeames - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Cottage Garden, which sold at auction in February 2003 for GBP 14,937.50 (€ 21,808.28).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 7.500,00 (€ 10.770,49) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 6.000,00 – 9.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von William Frederick Yeames mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Cottage Garden beobachtet, die im Februar 2003 für GBP 14.937,50 (€ 21.808,28) versteigert wurde.
