Auction result misses estimated price range
In April 2007 a collector was able to acquire the work An Appeal to the Podesta by William Frederick Yeames for USD 10,800.00 (€ 7,906.30). This price was achieved in the auction 19th Century European Art & Orientalist Art at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Frederick Yeames - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Cottage Garden, which sold at auction in February 2003 for GBP 14,937.50 (€ 21,808.28).

Im April 2007 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit An Appeal to the Podesta von William Frederick Yeames für USD 10.800,00 (€ 7.906,30) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion 19th Century European Art & Orientalist Art bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von William Frederick Yeames mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Cottage Garden beobachtet, die im Februar 2003 für GBP 14.937,50 (€ 21.808,28) versteigert wurde.
