Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Coastal Scene by William Eric Thorp was auctioned at Christies in London in October 2004. The price achieved of GBP 358.50 (€ 515.98) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 300.00 – 500.00. Admittedly, works by William Eric Thorp have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Towing out to sea in February 2004 with an auction result of USD 2,629.00 (€ 2,113.17).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Coastal Scene von William Eric Thorp kam im Oktober 2004 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 358,50 (€ 515,98) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 300,00 – 500,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Eric Thorp auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Towing out to sea im Februar 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.629,00 (€ 2.113,17).
