Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2000 Christies in London held the auction BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS, which included the work Female Nude; a Portrait of a Lady, seated full length, wearing a pink dress by William Edward Frost. The price achieved of GBP 129.25 (€ 216.27) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 25.00 – 200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Edward Frost achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Venus disarming Cupid in February 2003 with an auction result of GBP 38,240.00 (€ 55,829.19).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2000 führte Christies in London die Auktion BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Female Nude; a Portrait of a Lady, seated full length, wearing a pink dress von William Edward Frost zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 129,25 (€ 216,27) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 25,00 – 200,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Edward Frost erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Venus disarming Cupid im Februar 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 38.240,00 (€ 55.829,19).
