Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Study of a young lady, seated, full-length, wearing a rose-coloured dress; and Study of a female nude by William Edward Frost was auctioned at Christies in London in March 2012. The price achieved of GBP 500.00 (€ 599.41) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 400.00 – 600.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Edward Frost achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Venus disarming Cupid in February 2003 with an auction result of GBP 38,240.00 (€ 55,829.19).
