Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Terpsichore by William Edward Frost was auctioned at Sothebys in London in November 2008. The price achieved of GBP 2,375.00 (€ 2,871.55) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Edward Frost achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Venus disarming Cupid in February 2003 with an auction result of GBP 38,240.00 (€ 55,829.19).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Terpsichore von William Edward Frost kam im November 2008 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 2.375,00 (€ 2.871,55) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Edward Frost erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Venus disarming Cupid im Februar 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 38.240,00 (€ 55.829,19).
