Auction result well in line with expectations
In August 2005 Christies in Melbourne held the auction AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS, which included the work Museum Piece 3 by William Delafield Cook. The price achieved of AUD 1,195.00 (€ 728.24) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Delafield Cook achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Kiah River Re-Visited, 1984 in November 2004 with an auction result of AUD 149,375.00 (€ 87,006.80).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im August 2005 führte Christies in Melbourne die Auktion AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Museum Piece 3 von William Delafield Cook zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 1.195,00 (€ 728,24) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Delafield Cook erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Kiah River Re-Visited, 1984 im November 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 149.375,00 (€ 87.006,80).
