Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2002 Christies in London held the auction BRITISH PICTURES 1500-1850, which included the work Figures by a cottage in an extensive wooded landscape by William Collins. The price achieved of GBP 12,547.50 (€ 19,648.74) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Other works by William Collins have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in July 2017 the work Morning - Boulogne was auctioned for GBP 26,250.00 (€ 29,290.97).
