Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Children on a mountain top by William Collins was auctioned at Christies in London in February 2009. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,125.00 (€ 2,395.87) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Collins achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Morning - Boulogne in July 2017 with an auction result of GBP 26,250.00 (€ 29,290.97).

Die Arbeit Children on a mountain top von William Collins kam im Februar 2009 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.125,00 (€ 2.395,87) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Collins erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Morning - Boulogne im Juli 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 26.250,00 (€ 29.290,97).
