In May 2007 Christies in London held the auction Scone Palace and Blairquhan The Selected Contents of Two Great Scottish Houses, which included the work View of Sir David Wilkie's house in Vicarage Place, Kensington, from the back garden by William Collins. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 9,600.00 (€ 14,127.05), 60% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Collins - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Morning - Boulogne, which sold at auction in July 2017 for GBP 26,250.00 (€ 29,290.97).

Im Mai 2007 führte Christies in London die Auktion Scone Palace and Blairquhan The Selected Contents of Two Great Scottish Houses durch, in der auch die Arbeit View of Sir David Wilkie's house in Vicarage Place, Kensington, from the back garden von William Collins zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 9.600,00 (€ 14.127,05) und damit 60% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von William Collins mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Morning - Boulogne beobachtet, die im Juli 2017 für GBP 26.250,00 (€ 29.290,97) versteigert wurde.
