Auction result misses estimated price range
In February this year a collector was able to acquire the work Cattle Trough in the Hills by William Clapp for USD 1,402.50 (€ 1,322.86). This price was achieved in the auction Coast to Coast | Live OnlineAmerican Art, including The Collection of Gail Feingarten Oppenheimer at Bonhams and was even below the estimate range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,500.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by William Clapp have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Barn in August last year with an auction result of USD 5,737.50 (€ 5,700.45).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Februar diesen Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Cattle Trough in the Hills von William Clapp für USD 1.402,50 (€ 1.322,86) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Coast to Coast | Live OnlineAmerican Art, including The Collection of Gail Feingarten Oppenheimer bei Bonhams erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Clapp auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Barn im August letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.737,50 (€ 5.700,45).
